The PADI certified diving center in Massawa was
established in 1992. It has 13 years of experience
diving the Dahlaks, the Eritrea Diving Center offers
unique diving excursion to the Dahlak Islands.
There will not be any other diving boats except yours,
as this governmental diving center is the only one
in Eritrea. The center is staffed with 2 PADI quali-
fied dive instructors, 4 dive masters and 3 skippers.


The center possesses 3 fast boats, with them you
can reach the islands and the dive sites within 45
minutes. In a few months the Eritrea Diving Center
is bringing a modern high-tech luxurious fast boat
that will ensure comfortable and safe excursions to
the open sea and the different islands.

Dessei Island
Sehil:   under water rockformation, depth 36 m, soft-
            and hard corals, groupers, turtles, reef sharks
Camel: under water rockformation, depth 28 m, soft-
            and hard corals, rays, barracudas, reef sharks
N/W:    colourful reef, corals down to 15 m, from 25 m
            on rock formation down to 40 m, turtles, reef
            sharks

Madote
small uninhabited island with beautiful coral reef, depth
to 15 m, nice soft- and hard corals, on 5 m coral
garden, different fishes, sharks, moray, turtles

Shomma
the insider tip in Eritrea! Beautiful intact soft corals around
the island, many fishes, morays, rays, doctor fishes, 3
amazing reefs around the island, max. depth 18 m

Enteara
a sand bank which looks like a Caribbean paradise.
Ideal also for snorkeling and night dives, nice coral
reef, big fishes, napoleon, morays etc.
max. depth 10 m.

Dur Gaam
nice and colourful reef, max. depth 16 m, special for this
island are turtles, lionfishes, morays. Perfect for night
dives.

Dur Ghella
similar  island like Dur Gaam, max. depth 11 m, you can
expect a dive like in an aquarium.

Dohul Bahot
a special coral island, colourful, fish schools, barracudas,
turtles, max. depth 10 m

Dahlak Kebir

Dry Dock
An old russian dry dock, from the surface down to 20 m, on
deck an unforgettable crowd of soft corals, inside the dry
dock you can see many spare parts like lamps and lifting
platforms, full of small fishes.
Nocra Channel
In the channel of Dahlak Kebir you dive through a wonderful
coral garden with caves, in which some big fishes try to hide.
Depending from the tide very strong current is to expect, max.
depth 23 m, aspecially with current you will be overtaken by
sharks, turtles and big groupers.
Urania
An italian cargo ship, sunken at the end of the second world
war in the bay of Dahlak Kebir, from the surface down to
20 m, back on back with an unknown ferry, many small fishes.
This wreck is perfect for an adventurous dive.
